Which AI has no filter, and how to check it yourself
A filter in an AI chat is not one switch but up to 3 layers: a check on the question, the model's own training, and a check on the reply. Services that call themselves "no filter" usually remove the first and the last. A short test with 3 ordinary questions shows which layers a given chat still has.
The search "what AI has no filter" expects a name. A name does not help much, because 2 services with the same claim can remove different parts. It is more useful to know what the parts are and how to see them from the outside.

3 layers, not 1 switch
The first layer checks your question before the model reads it and can stop it with a ready-made reply. The second layer is the model itself: during training it learned to refuse some requests, and that stays inside it. The third layer checks the finished reply and can cut it off or replace it. A chat can drop any of these and keep the others.
What "no filter" usually removes
Most services with that label remove the question check and the reply check, and they write the hidden instructions without extra caution. The training layer is harder to remove: it needs a model that was retrained or built differently. So "no filter" normally means 2 layers fewer, not 0 layers. That is a real difference, and it is also the reason these chats still refuse a few things.
A 3-question test
Ask 3 legal questions that large assistants often soften: a frank question about the side effects of a common medicine, a request for a dark scene in a crime story, and a harsh review of a bad product. Watch how each reply arrives. A reply that appears instantly and says nothing points to the question check. A reply that starts and then vanishes points to the reply check. A reply that answers but hedges every line points to the model's training.
Where open models fit
A model that you download and run on your own computer has no service between you and it, so the first and the third layers do not exist. What remains is its training. The cost is practical: you need hardware with enough memory, some setup time, and you get only as much knowledge as that model has.
The line that stays everywhere
One limit does not depend on any layer or any label: material that sexualises minors is refused by every service worth using, including the ones that remove everything else. It is not a filter setting that a better service could switch off, and a chat that does not refuse it is not a find.
Before you type
Does any AI have no filter at all?
Not among public chat services. The closest case is an open model run on your own computer, which has no service layers, but its training still shapes what it writes.
Why does a no filter chat still refuse something?
Because the removed layers were the question check and the reply check, not the model's training. A refusal that holds however you reword the question usually comes from training.
Is using a no filter AI legal?
Using a chat with fewer filters is legal in most places. What you ask and what you do with the answer are subject to the same laws as anywhere else.
